Sheikh Hamdan has pledged his support to a Palestinian child injured during the recent conflict in Gaza, as announced by the Dubai Media Office on Saturday. The child, Mohammad Saeed Shaaban, lost both legs and his right hand in an Israeli airstrike in northern Gaza.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, has taken responsibility for providing Shaaban with prosthetic limbs. This compassionate act highlights Sheikh Hamdan’s enduring solidarity with Palestine. On October 22, 2023, amid the escalating Israel-Hamas conflict, Sheikh Hamdan shared a heartfelt prayer for Palestine on Instagram, accompanied by an image of a person waving the Palestinian flag in front of Al Aqsa Mosque.

This humanitarian gesture is part of the UAE’s broader response to the crisis in Gaza. Through initiatives such as Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, the UAE has been providing prosthetic limbs and psychological rehabilitation to victims of the conflict. The programme also extends psychological support to help individuals adapt to their new circumstances, reflecting a comprehensive approach to relief and recovery.
