3 Men Who Fled Dubai Caught and Set to Stand Trial for Murder

3 men arrested

Three Pakistani men have been sentenced to one month in prison, followed by deportation, after fleeing the UAE to avoid prosecution in a murder case in Dubai’s Umm Al Ramool area. The trial for the murder charges is scheduled to begin on January 8, 2025.

Court records reveal that the defendants were involved in a murder on March 26, 2024, within the jurisdiction of Al Rashidiya Police Station. The day after the crime, the men illegally exited the UAE by bypassing official checkpoints. They concealed themselves in a truck driven by a compatriot and crossed into Oman undetected.

Omani authorities later discovered their illegal entry and connected them to the Dubai murder case. They were subsequently arrested and handed over to Dubai Police on April 8, 2024.

The Dubai Public Prosecution charged the men, aged 25 to 35, under Federal Decree-Law No. 29 of 2021 for illegal entry and exit, alongside their alleged involvement in the murder.
